Abstract
The legislator has rightly decided that revitalisation should be based on social participation. In practice it means a real involvement of local residents in, firstly – the planning process, secondly – implementation and finally – in the evaluation of revitalisation activities. The revitalisation process should involve getting to know the needs and opinions of space users, designation of a degraded area and revitalisation area, and the drafting of the redevelopment plan. A key element of the process is also its evaluation by stakeholders.
