Abstract
This article presents an analysis of research results included in accessible literature, paying special attention to the state of knowledge referring to political assassins in the light of their motivations. The subject motivation, except from action possibilities (assassins’ potential), is one of the basic elements analysed by secret service in order to estimate the risk and determine the danger level. It arises from the fact that behaviours leading to a political murder are shaped by two complex sets of variables, which are the subject of technological evolution: motivation and possibilities. This paper also discusses the aspect of support for assassins and indicates dangers connected with informal interest groups’ motivations.
