Abstract
A supervisory board is a supervisory authority, which is compulsory in certain economic entities. The article focuses on the rights and obligations imposed by law on the supervisory boards. The main purpose of the paper is to indicate the role of this body throughout the management process. An important issue during the establishment of the supervisory boards is the candidate selection and personnel policy. A special attention was given to the companies with shares owned by the City of Kalisz.
Thus, a broader presentation of this issue seems to be warranted, which may be of interest for many reasons.
